Dot's shocked to see Max back at home and doubts he can look after his kids judging by the state he's in. Max appeals to Dot to look after them while he visits Tanya. He's determined to find out what happened.
It's Suzy's birthday and she tries not to appear flustered by Ben's jokes about her age. She delighted when Phil gives her a dog collar - ready for the dog she wanted. Phil's alarmed that Suzy also expects a 'surprise' party.
Max barges into the club and dumps Jack's bags on his desk. He warns him to keep away from his family. Jack's uneasy about accepting Ronnie's offer to stay in his old flat, but finally accepts.
Patrick's surprised how well Yolande's adapted to her move to Birmingham. He feels like he's been left behind. However, he's intrigued to hear gossip about the kiss Denise shared with Lucas, and plans to bring them together.
Suzy's choice of a tiny chihuahua called Prince isn't what Phil had in mind. Phil takes the credit for organising Suzy's party, although he paid Shirley to do it. Suzy flips when she sees the balloons have '45' written on them.
Tony lends a sympathetic ear to Lauren's family problems. He casually mentions that only two tickets for her favourite band 'Pure Lightning' remain, and appears surprised when she wonders if he'd go with her.
Vinnie finds Shirley alone and crying. Phil was pressured into sacking her after she kept stirring things up between him and Suzy. He asks if she wants to be his navigator in the rally.
Tanya's raging that Max is back at home with the kids. She insists that she was behind the wheel and wanted him dead, but Max doesn't buy it. He reckons that she's protecting the true culprit - Jack.
